The Australasian Soilborne Disease Symposium 2022 will be held at the Hilton Cairns 1 - 5 August 2022. Oral submissions have now closed, however Poster Abstract Submissions are still open to students. Poster Submissions will close at 23:59 AEST on 1 June.
This will be an in-person symposium* with limited international on-line attendance.
Abstract Guidelines
Abstracts submitted must be original and not presented or published elsewhere. They should be no more than 300 words in length.

- Biosecurity/Modelling/Climate Change
- Communication, extensions and engagement
- Breeding and genetics
- Soilborne disease and farming
- Agricultural microbiomes and pathogens ecology
- Diagnostics, new pathogens
- Soilborne Innovations
- Integrated disease management and agronomy
Abstracts will now only be considered for poster presentations. This decision will be made at the discretion of the program committee based upon relevance, contribution to soilborne diseases.

Upon receipt of your submission, KAM Events will issue an email confirmation to the submitting author. Please allow up to 48 hours for email confirmation of your abstract submission. If you do not receive a confirmation email from the abstract system within 48 hours, please contact asds@kamevents.com.au. All abstracts will be reviewed by the program committee, and you will be notified of your submission outcome via email no later than Friday 27th May 2022. Instructions will be provided on the notification email.
* The in-person meeting will depend on federal and state restrictions, but contingencies have been made should restrictions not allow gatherings or travel.
A grant to fund the flights of early career researchers to attend and present at the ASDS conference.
The grant provides Higher Degree Research students up to $750 to assist in the travel cost of attending the Australasian Soilborne Disease Symposium 2022 conference in Cairns.
The grant money will be pro-rated depending on where the researcher is travelling from. You will need to submit a copy of the abstract and evidence of conference submission and if available the conference organisers acceptance of their presentation. Moreover, the applicant will need to submit a 100-word statement outlining the relevance of attending the conference to their research.

NB. ECRs must have been awarded a PhD within five years, or longer if combined with periods of significant career interruption. Applicants without PhD qualifications but with up to 10 years’ experience in the plant pathology industry are also considered as ECRs.
